Introduction and History of MCM

Consequent upon the COAS Command Communiqué 12 / 2008 issued on 10 May 2008, Military College Murree (MCM) was established for the wards of Army Personnel and was inaugurated by the COAS Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, NI(M), HI, on 1st September 2008.

Military College Murree is entrusted to educate and groom the cadets for induction into the Pakistan Army. Since its establishment, earnest efforts have been made at all tiers to make Military College Murree a dynamic educational entity and an institute par excellence. College is structured for strength of 450 cadets from class IX to XII year. The first entry after successful completion of their academic pursuits has left the college. On the eve of departure of pioneer entry, 1st Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 28 Jun 10, and COAS graced the occasion as a Chief Guest. Master Plan of the college has been approved and developmental works have been planned in five phases; three phases have almost been completed and the project with state of the art infrastructure/facilities shall, InSha Allah, be completed by Jun 2012. The cadets of MCM are known as “HIMALIANS”.


Mission:

          To educate and groom the cadets mentally, morally and   physically with a view to nurturing their requisite leadership   qualities for induction into the Pakistan Military Academy.

Scope:

•      To provide sound education from class IX to XII at subsidized rates to the wards of serving as well as retired / released Army  personnel and civilians.

•      To act as a feeder institution for preparing cadets for commissioned ranks in the defence forces of Pakistan.

•     To impart education and ensure character  training  of the students to make them useful and prolific  members of the society at large.
